KyraMinturn, born August 19, 1965 is an American actress. She is best known for her part as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The series ended after the seventh season. Sedgwick is also famous for her role in the show as Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's solos (1992) as well as Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996) as well as What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who works as a speech and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick who is a venture capitalist.
