Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris (born October 20 1964) was an American politician, attorney, and the current vice president of the United States. She is also the first female vice-president and the highest ranking female official of the United America. She is a member and former US senator representing California. Harris was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Howard University as well as the University of California Hastings College of the Law. After establishing her career as an Alameda County District Attorney Harris was hired to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Later she became the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003 she was elected San Francisco District Attorney. In 2010, Harris was elected Attorney General of California. Harris was elected again in 2014. Harris was the junior United States Senator from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez to become the first African American woman senator and the first South Asian American ever to be elected to the United States Senate. She was a senator , and was a vocal advocate for reforms to healthcare as well as federal cannabis de-scheduling the possibility of citizenship for undocumented immigrant immigrants, the DREAM Act, a ban against assault weapons, as well as progressive tax reform. She was well-known for her direct questioning of Trump government officials in Senate hearings.
