Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born March 4 1954. She is a comedian as well as an actress and writer. O'Hara has won numerous prizes which include the Genie Award (a Golden Globe Award) as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, O'Hara was awarded six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, O'Hara was appointed an Officer of Canada. In 2020 she was awarded the Governor General’s Performing Arts Performing Arts Artistic Achievement Award. O'Hara made her name as an actor when she joined in 1974 of The Second City, an improvisational comedy troupe based in Toronto. Along with John Candy, O'Hara was part of the main ensemble cast for the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara was a part of Candy in the sketch comedy series Second City Television (1976-1984). She received praise from critics for both her writing and acting skills and was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award, 1981 for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. O'Hara, Steve Carell and Dwayne Colbert were added to the Second City artistic board in 2022.
