Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. In 2001, she launched The Corcoran Group in New York City. She sold the brokerage to NRT for $66 million. In the following months she left the business. Corcoran is among ABC's first Shark Tank investors. To date she has appeared on every season of Shark Tank. In February of 2020, she's signed 53 deals with the show, with the biggest being a $350,000 investment in 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child of 10 children born to an Irish Catholic couple of working class located in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence, Corcoran's mother, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father was a multi-talented worker throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family often depended on food delivery services for free from the local grocer. Corcoran remembers her fatheras a man who sometimes drank too much and treated her mother disrespectfully and condescendingly, particularly after he'd had a few drinks. Corcoran had difficulty in school, and discovered later that she was dyslexic. Corcoran attended an Catholic primary school within her area and started the high school year at St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a degree in English after having failed several classes during her first year of high school.
